The automotive industry has transitioned from using engines powered by finite resources like oil, meaning there has been a shift from internal combustion engines to electric motors. Electric motors utilize batteries for propulsion via power converters and electric motors, respectively.

Another advantage of electric motors is that electric vehicles do not emit polluting exhaust fumes, benefiting the environment and aligning with current eco-friendly trends.

However, while the number of EV charging stations in Thailand is currently sufficient for present consumers, the volume of electric vehicles is expected to increase many times over in the future, potentially leading to insufficient charging stations. This is partly due to the European Parliament's vote on legislation to ban the sale of internal combustion engine vehicles, with a vote of 339 to 249.

The ban on the sale of gasoline-powered cars is set to take effect from 2035. While using electric vehicles offers cost savings and environmental benefits, and despite the increasing coverage of charging services in Thailand, certain issues have been observed at charging stations. For example, regarding the queue reservation system, sometimes when checking the charging station's app, it indicates that the station is unavailable.

However, upon arrival, the charging station may not have any vehicles charging as indicated by the app, or attempts to charge at the physical location may fail. Another observation regarding charging station services is the payment system. The payment system sometimes lacks stability, occasionally preventing payment via credit card. All these observations might occur at only some stations, but they represent real problems affecting consumers.
